A little outside of Antwerp lies the little city of Mortsel. A decent middle ground between the real city's bustle and green outdoor hamlets away from the centre. Hidden in this recognizable municipality you can find some very agreable neighbourhoods which have everything normal people need. Between the city centre and the old fortress lies Oude God, with surprisingly pleasant streets.
The new interventions in this urban fabric try to extend the quality that was already there. A new public connection gives space to a new little park and playground and collective gardens search for subtle contact on the streets. Cornerblocks mark clear figures with identyfiable adresses. Old trees stand tall next to the new facades and make the complex seem to belong there immediately. I couldn't help myself but think of Muzio, associating this to a modern convent in Mortsel.
